Continuous Drying

Single-pass continuous drying of pumpable feeds into free-flowing powders for materials across food, pharmaceutical, and industrial applications.

Overview

From Liquid Feed to Free-Flowing Powder in a Single Continuous Pass

Artisan’s horizontal thin-film evaporators convert pumpable feeds into free-flowing powders through a continuous drying process, without the multi-stage handling that conventional drying systems often require. The result is consistent powder quality across a wide range of materials, such as food products and additives, dissolved solids, waste streams, and nano-particles.

This continuous drying approach combines rapid heat transfer, minimal residence time, and efficient indirect heating within a controlled thin-film environment. It is especially well-suited for materials where product integrity cannot be compromised, or where batch processing and direct heat contact may lead to degradation, fouling, or yield loss.

Key Benefits

What You Can Expect

Continuous single-pass drying from pumpable liquid feed to free-flowing powder, without multi-stage processing requirements

Preserved product quality and integrity, even for heat-sensitive, high-value materials

Reliable processing for high-viscosity and sensitive materials that conventional drying equipment cannot handle

Applications

Where Artisan Continuous Drying Is Applied

Producing powdered food additives and high-value powders continuously at production scale

Recovering solvents for recycling from waste solids, helping reduce operational costs and environmental impact

Supporting PFAS removal from water by addressing contaminated streams with continuous thermal processing

Drying pharmaceutical components upstream of tableting while helping preserve active ingredient integrity

Artisan’s Continuous Drying Technology. Your Application.

Every drying application has its own material behavior, target powder quality, and process requirements. Artisan’s engineering team can assess your feed characteristics, solids content, viscosity, heat sensitivity, solvent or water removal goals, and downstream needs to determine whether continuous thin-film drying is the right path forward.
