Custom ASME Pressure Vessels

Artisan Custom ASME Pressure Vessels integrate engineering expertise, in-house manufacturing, and code-driven fabrication for demanding process equipment applications.

Artisan Custom ASME Pressure Vessels for Complex Process Requirements

Artisan brings 90 years of process equipment experience to the development of custom ASME pressure vessels, reactors, chemical handling equipment, and integrated system solutions. With fully integrated engineering and manufacturing teams under one roof, Artisan can move from early concept inputs, such as a datasheet or hand sketch, to fabricated equipment built to ASME and applicable code standards.

pressure vessel

Artisan has created custom vessels and process equipment for chemical, oil refinery, food and dairy, pharmaceutical, biodiesel, nuclear, and other industrial applications. These projects often involve high pressure, specialty materials, unusual loading conditions, high-temperature service, fatigue analysis, jacketed construction, non-standard geometries, or documentation criteria tied to industry-specific standards.

Key Features

What Makes Artisan Custom ASME Pressure Vessels Different

Integrated Engineering & Manufacturing

Artisan’s mechanical engineering and fabrication teams work within a single organization, allowing technical decisions, code requirements, and manufacturing realities to be addressed together.

Code-Driven Vessel Execution

Pressure vessel work can be developed around ASME Section VIII Division I, Pressure Equipment Directive, China License, CRN, and other applicable code parameters.

Advanced Mechanical Engineering Expertise

Artisan’s mechanical engineering staff includes licensed professional engineers who account for loading, materials, thermal behavior, fatigue, sealing, testing, and non-standard design conditions.

Custom Fabrication & Machining

Artisan can fabricate and machine custom vessels using carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, and high alloy steels for process-specific service conditions.

Technical Capabilities

Artisan Custom ASME Pressure Vessels are created for applications where code compliance, process conditions, material selection, mechanical loading, and fabrication details must be evaluated as part of a complete equipment strategy. From high-pressure vessels and reactors to large separation columns and jacketed process equipment, Artisan’s engineering team can address both standard and non-routine pressure vessel challenges.

Where Custom ASME Pressure Vessels Are Applied

Industries Served

Artisan Custom ASME Pressure Vessel Expertise. Your Process Equipment Requirement.

Pressure vessel projects require a full view of the process, code environment, and mechanical loading conditions behind the application. The final equipment package is shaped by the material of construction, operating temperature, nozzle loads, cyclic service, external pressure, applicable code requirements, installation environment, and testing needs. Artisan’s engineering team can assess these variables and recommend a vessel approach aligned with the process and applicable code framework.

Technical Specifications

Codes, Materials & Engineering Parameters

Code Certifications
Artisan certifications include ASME Section VIII Division I, Pressure Equipment Directive, China License, and CRN.
Jacket Options
Vessel jackets may include dimpled, half-pipe, and baffled jackets using steam or liquid heating media.
Applicable Standards
Artisan can create equipment in compliance with requirements such as hazardous area electrical specifications, API specifications, OSHA machinery guarding and design, 3A and BPE standard compliant designs, FDA documented systems and equipment, and EU Machinery Directive compliant designs.
Sample 100 sq. ft. Rototherm® Vessels
Artisan shipped 100 sq. ft. Rototherm® units to South Korea that met local codes and standards. Similar designs have been checked for low-cycle fatigue, thermal stress, special connection geometry, and non-routine ASME pressure vessel code applications.
Material Options
Available materials span carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, and high alloy steels, with specialty alloys applied based on service conditions.
Sample 70-Foot Separation Column
Artisan created a 70-foot solvent separation column requiring integration of customer nozzle loads with external loading on column connections. Shell section material weight was minimized using external pressure reinforcing rings that also served as insulation supports.
Engineering Analysis
Projects may include shell buckling, fatigue design, low-cycle fatigue, thermal stress and strain, high-temperature design, special loading conditions, and wind or seismic specifications.
Sample 45-Foot Separation Column
Artisan created a 45-foot separation column using clamp-on steam jackets to limit heat loss through the separation process. Temporary saddles were constructed and attached for testing, shipping, and installation.
Testing & Validation
Non-standard vessel designs can require strain gage testing, burst testing, certification, and additional proof requirements.
