Artisan’s proven 4-Step Process Improvement approach will increase your product quality and yield.

Step 1: Process Development

Integrated engineering team

Once you have filled out Artisan’s Design Data Questionnaire, our experienced engineering team will determine which of our proprietary heat and mass transfer equipment will best suit your application.

We’ll work with your staff to develop a customized solution that will improve your current process, or we may design a new process scheme, to reduce operating costs and improve your bottom line. Then we’ll deliver a budget proposal offering our solution with sufficient detail for your feasibility evaluation.

Step 2: Pilot Testing

Fully-equipped, computer-controlled pilot plant

The next step in developing your process is to test it in our Pilot Plant. After you complete our Pilot Plant Questionnaire, Artisan will provide you with a quotation for pilot plant testing. We will then custom-build a single or multi-step system to test the process. By testing your application using a pilot-scale version of the commercial equipment, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience, and the confidence to implement your new process. Once testing is complete, we will have enough data to accurately size your commercial equipment and provide a firm price quotation. And if you use our Pilot Plant for testing, we can provide a process guarantee. In most cases, a portion of the testing fee is credited toward the purchase of commercial equipment.

Step 3: Commercial Scale-up

Commercial scale-up of proven process design

Using proprietary scale-up algorithms and commercial process simulation modeling, Artisan engineers use the data collected and the analytical results from the pilot trial to design your Rototherm, Evaporator/Stripper or distillation system. Then our fabrication shop will build the equipment to the high standards for which Artisan has been recognized for over 74 years.

Step 4: Complete Systems

Skid-mounted process equipment

If your process needs auxiliary equipment to compliment Artisan’s Rototherm®, Evaporator/Stripper™ or distillation equipment, our engineers can help design a complete system. We will specify heat exchangers, pumps, instruments, controls, etc. and then assemble the system based on your plant specifications. The finished system can be delivered to your plant on modular self-contained skids to be integrated into your process.
